Had same experience. Lasted 15min into Hail Mary. I read book but thought movie had wrong tone from start. Then when student asks if sun dimming is a "no big whoopsie" and he says it's more like a "small to medium whoopsie" I was so out. Way to cutesy and derivative for me to invest another 140min.
