BITCOIN $100,000 ODDS BY YEAR-END RISE TO 28% ON POLYMARKET

Bitcoin has gained 24% since Monday and topped $77,000, its best week since 2023, per CoinDesk. The move broke a $62,000-$66,900 range that had held since July 8.
Short liquidations totaled about $3B over 24 hours against $263.5M on the long side, the largest short liquidation event since at least 2021. More than $1B cleared in a single hour. The Kobeissi Letter puts total leveraged positions wiped out at $3.5B, which it ranks seventh all-time. CoinGlass counted $2.99B across the August 19 session and ranked it eighth.
Treasury Secretary Bessent announced long-end bond buybacks doubling from $2B to at least $4B per operation effective September 9. Standard Chartered said Thursday it sees Bitcoin reaching $100,000 by the end of 2026.
