quote: FYI the chart below (which I'm seeing a lot of folks cite to counter Wright's claims) was made by @Rory_Johnston, that tireless hero of oil twitter who most of you now know, and (hopefully) trust. Credit where credit is due. | This is false. Wright claims the seven-day average for Hormuz outbound oil is “currently up to almost 9 million barrels per day.” It isn’t. Commodity Context (Kpler) data as of today has the 7-day average around 3-4 MMbpd. It peaked at 6-7 in early August and has fallen since. 9 was never true, not even at the peak, and that’s on a liquids-inclusive basis that counts more than crude. Iranian attacks have hit ships nearly every day over the past seven days. Confirmed loadings have gone to near zero on multiple days. Iranian and Saudi transits are both at zero. You can’t run a near-9 average through seven days of stoppages. East-West + Fujairah rerouting is ~4 MMbpd, not 5-7. Sunday was a Yanbu loading spike, not a restored baseline.
