Samsung Hits 80% Yield on HBM4, Ramping Up Supply According to Korean press reports, Samsung has lifted its HBM4 yield to 80%. In the early days of mass production this February the yield was still below 60%, so this is a remarkable improvement in just six months. Per a source cited by Korean media, an industry official said: "The year-end yield target had originally been 80%, but as second-half production volumes ramped up in earnest, the pace of process improvement outpaced expectations." With the HBM4 yield getting on track so quickly, Samsung has reportedly decided to raise Q3 HBM4 revenue by more than 3x quarter-on-quarter, and has set a plan to lift HBM4 to over 60% of total HBM revenue in the second half. It is also said to have set a target of raising its HBM market share by year-end to a level comparable to its DRAM market share (roughly 38%).
