With more and more of the world's video being created by, edited with, or augmented by AI, it's well past time for the @Livepeer project to upgrade itself to be a highly impactful infrastructure that serves this space. I'm excited to peel back the curtain on an updated vision for Livepeer in the agentic first era.

This vision introduces the Livepeer Agent - a video creation MCP that hooks up to your Claude / GPT / Codex / etc, and assists creators and marketers in their media creation, editing, and analysis tasks. Under the hood, agent calls out to 100's of models and video compute capabilities running on the Livepeer network. The linked post below contains multiple videos that were created entirely using Livepeer Agent, saving thousands of dollars, and hundreds of hours off the typical production process.

The vision also suggests key tokeneconomic updates for $LPT, that are important to incentivize and secure the right types of behaviors on the network to deliver this infrastructure. The connection between fees and token value capture weakened as the network expanded beyond transcoding, and these updates strengthen it again to ensure LPT can succeed in the years to come.

The momentum within the project has been incredible these past couple of weeks as the community has been working through these updates. The Livepeer Agent alpha is progressing quickly, being validated with users, and the community of node operators is weighing in on the protocol mechanisms proposed.
