President Trump spoke by phone with Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday morning, according to people familiar with the call, checking in with the Middle Eastern ally as the U.S. prepares to restart bombing in Iran.
The call between the two leaders comes days after Trump huddled at the White House with his top military commanders about options to resume major combat operations in the region, The Wall Street Journal has previously reported.
It also comes as the president is making a final push to motivate Republican voters ahead of the midterm elections where the unpopular Middle Eastern war has contributed to higher fuel prices and been a drag on GOP enthusiasm https://www.wsj.com/livecoverage/midterm-election-news-2026/card/trump-speaks-with-netanyahu-amid-iran-war-planning-997Gvwvp7DvqXAjexoIg?mod=mhp
