One of the key points I made during my talk at @RippleSwell was that we can wind up in one of two worlds with AI.
One world is like the Internet is now. If you want to make money offering videos to the public, you pretty much have to build your business on YouTube. And if your business priorities don't align with Google's, your business and all that you've built just goes away.
The other is like the early days of the Internet. Instead of needing to get a publisher or TV station to get your ideas to the public or needed fantastic wealth, anyone could create a web site or blog and talk to the world. The gatekeepers were gone.
AI can go either way. We can have a world where a dozen companies are the gatekeepers of what you can do with AI or a world where anyone's AI agent can get services from anyone else's and anyone can create services on their own machines and offer them to everyone else in the world.
I think blockchain technologies (very broadly speaking, not just crytocurrencies, not just layer one public blockchains, but all the new value movement stuff) as a key enabler to getting in that better world where we don't have a small number of new gatekeepers who can shut off any uses of AI they don't like.
