Energy executives in #Venezuela warn they are struggling to recruit enough skilled workers to revive the country’s dilapidated oil sector even as Donald Trump’s administration and Caracas push to raise production.
Salaries that are a fraction of those paid abroad are unlikely to lure back the thousands of oil workers who left Venezuela during the revolutionary socialist administrations of seized former president Nicolás Maduro and his predecessor Hugo Chávez. Its universities were also turning out too few petroleum engineers to meet demand, industry bosses said.
