@vincentjiangx @Jason @Stacks If your Picasso starts giving you guaranteed income stream per month then it becomes a productive asset.
Reply to @vincentjiangx: you can borrow against your Picasso collection, it doesn't make it productive.
I've been owning bitcoins since 2013. The only reason why institutions own it is because demand for diversification. Global liquid assets is around $144 trillion. Bitcoin at $1.63T is exactly 1.13% which was exactly the 1% insurance policy @chamath advocated.
There's very little demand for bitcoin beyond this 1.13%. For the crypto community to think that this to double to 150-200k within a year or two is pretty funny. It's literally competing against 5 other non-productive asset classes
1. Gold 2. Fine Arts 3. Collectible cars, watches, cards, antiques 4. Recreational real estate, timeshare 5. zero-coupon gov bonds etc.
Jason should absolutely wager that 1 million bet. Bitcoin can't double within a couple of years.
