An AI chatbot goes looking for Georgia election data on its own, reportedly getting past a paywall without anyone telling it to.
Anthropic's Claude AI model independently requested a token to access a government dashboard containing aggregate vote counts while working on an internal statistics project, according to Axios.
The company insists Claude never accessed voter registration records, retrieved individual voting information, or changed election data.
But the incident reached the White House, and Trump administration officials reportedly pressed Georgia officials to make it public sooner.
