if you've been in the game for a while, it's quite easy to go down the road of the 'what ifs'. what if you had held xx or what if you had sold xx , etc. Just a few different decisions and you likely could have made significantly more $ than you had. these thoughts can rot in your brain for days, weeks, months on end.
I can't tell you how poisonous this is to your progress. I know traders who live YEARS in the past and can't move forward; they carry the burdens/mistakes from before into the present. Usually this comes in the form of anchoring to your former net worth.
Crypto trading in real time is a hard enough game as it stands. You're dealing with 10000 different moving parts /factors simultaneously and clean trading execution is paramount to your success. Add regret to this mix and it makes it very hard to look to the future AND be optimistic. Optimism is a huge component for your trading mentality and you must always believe that you have the skills to compete and make money. Without any confidence, you are doomed to fail and it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
if you're struggling with dealing with regret, you are not alone. it's a tough one to move past when there are so many opportunities available. the only thing I can tell you is to keep clicking, to really focus on where you are really leaking tons of $$ (mine was holding too long in the past), and to really try to string together some small wins together in a row. It doesn't even matter so much about the money; just a pure replication of success. I always find that when I'm making more money consistently, I'm much more optimistic.
At the end of the day, things are rarely as good or as bad as they seem.
