#Switzerland: Delayed pipeline deliveries caused by heavy rainfall in southern France have led to a short-term shortage of diesel fuel, exacerbating an already very tight supply situation. To bridge this gap, diesel will be temporarily drawn from mandatory strategic reserves. This ensures that the supply of diesel fuel to Switzerland remains secure.
Roland Pfister, the Delegate for National Economic Supply, has authorized the withdrawal of diesel from mandatory petroleum reserves to address a temporary shortfall in meeting demand. Between October 23 and November 22, 2026, up to 45,000 m³ of diesel fuel may be drawn—an amount equivalent to just under four percent of the current mandatory diesel reserves.
