A group of House Democrats and one Republican introduced legislation Friday to block President Donald Trump’s diesel deal with Vladimir Putin.
Passing the bill, which would likely require overcoming a Trump veto if it reaches his desk, would be difficult. While Ukraine has broad support on Capitol Hill, the Republican-controlled Congress is out of town until after the midterms and GOP leaders have not signed on to an effort to rein in the president.
Crude oil, gasoline and diesel futures all ticked up shortly after the bill was announced, while traders also weighed continued concerns about oil supplies from the Middle East. #oott https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2026-10-16/trump-diesel-deal-faces-fresh-legislative-challenge-in-congress?utm_source=website&utm_medium=share&utm_campaign=twitter
