By nature, public blockchains are transparent, supporting their strong security and connectivity. However, certain financial use cases require privacy, forcing institutions to choose private chains and forgo the advantages of public networks. Monad Private Settlement bridges this gap, marrying liquid markets with confidential transactions. Today, we are sharing Category Labs' design for Monad Private Settlement: a sovereign, confidential execution domain designed for the Monad network. Inter- and cross-domain transactions, state, and contract code are encrypted end-to-end. Private Settlement Domains support per-contract access control rules as a building block toward meeting jurisdictional compliance requirements. Embedded in the Monad network, all domains can tap into the network’s liquidity and benefit from all the properties of a public chain.
