SuperRare's October Artist Additions
New to SuperRare: October 2026
Every month, SuperRare opens its doors to a new group of artists, and this month we’re thrilled to welcome seven from across Africa, Europe, the Middle East and beyond. From pixel art and photography to textile, augmented reality, mixed media and digital experimentation, their practices draw on distinct cultural contexts while exploring memory, identity, technology and the evolving possibilities of contemporary art.
Benson Apah @benson_apah
Benson Apah is a Nigerian poet and multidisciplinary visual artist from the Niger Delta, working across photography, portraiture, collage and installation. After beginning as a writer, he turned to photography as a way to translate personal and collective experience into visual form. His carefully constructed portraits use light, shadow, saturated color and symbolic staging to explore identity, spirituality, environmental extraction and the persistence of colonial histories within contemporary life. Moving between documentary observation and visual metaphor, Apah centers Black skin with dignity, strength and grace. His work has been shown at Art Basel Miami, Paris Photo, Haute Photographie Amsterdam and the Africa Foto Fair, and received first prize in the 2025 Earth Partner Prize.
BiiMO @BiiMO_Official
BiiMO is an anonymous Georgian street artist whose practice has moved between public space and digital systems for nearly two decades. Beginning with experiments in Flash and Photoshop in 2004, he now works across augmented reality, sculpture, sound, virtual environments and web-based installations. His projects extend the urgency of street art into networked space, confronting state repression, war, LGBTQ+ rights and collective memory. These include Puppet House, projected onto the Georgian Parliament, and ДЕТИ, an AR intervention at the Russian Pavilion during the Venice Biennale commemorating victims of the Mariupol theatre bombing. Through AR Cities, BiiMO has also helped build public digital-art exhibitions across several European cities.
Lowtrippy @Lowtrippy
Lowtrippy is a pixel artist who creates liminal, nostalgic worlds with software designed for 3D production. Rather than treating the pixel as a flat, hand-drawn unit, he pushes modeling and rendering tools against their intended use, combining the atmosphere and spatial depth of 3D with the visual texture of early games. Trains, empty rooms, strange figures and half-remembered landscapes recur throughout the work, giving familiar spaces the quality of dreams or fragmented memories. This technical misapplication has become a distinctive artistic language, situated between pixel art, cinematic world-building and the uncanny emotional pull of obsolete digital environments.
Moldy @ifeelsomoldy
Moldy is a textile artist who transforms repurposed garments and discarded fabrics into densely layered works that combine personal design, collage and material experimentation. Treating existing clothing as both raw material and a record of previous lives, Moldy cuts, rearranges and reconstructs textiles to create compositions characterized by a sense of controlled chaos. The process becomes a way of moving through thoughts intuitively, allowing disparate colors, textures, patterns and fragments to collide within a single surface. By giving unwanted materials new contexts and identities, Moldy’s practice sits between textile art, assemblage and wearable culture, emphasizing both the visual and tactile possibilities of reuse.
Parisa Khazaee @PKhazaeee
Parisa Khazaee is a multidisciplinary artist working across painting, mixed media and digital art to explore the emotional lives of women. Her practice centers feelings that are often experienced privately or suppressed, translating internal states into visual form through intimate, psychologically charged imagery. Moving between physical and digital mediums, Khazaee examines vulnerability, identity and the complexities of emotional expression from a distinctly female perspective. Active since 2010, she has presented her work across traditional galleries, digital exhibitions and the NFT space, developing a practice that bridges established artistic mediums with emerging forms of digital creation and distribution.
Roccano @rocc_ano
Roccano is a digital artist working in pixel art, drawing on early personal computing, video games and the visual memory of the pre-social web. His scenes often center obsolete machines, interiors and ordinary objects, rendered through limited palettes and the deliberate compression of low-resolution imagery. Working in a medium that began as a technical constraint and has since become an artistic language, Roccano uses nostalgia as more than retro styling: it becomes a way to examine how technology entered domestic life, memory and culture. Active across Tezos and Ethereum, his work connects the material history of computing with the contemporary onchain image.
Utku Dedetaş @utkudedetas
Utku Dedetaş is an Istanbul-based artist, designer and lecturer whose practice explores the fragile mechanics of memory, personal experience and collective history. Drawing from everyday encounters, gathered narratives and his own memories, he approaches remembering not as a faithful reconstruction but as a glitched assembly of scattered fragments that continually diverges from reality. Working across disciplines informed by his background in industrial design, illustration and storyboarding, Dedetaş examines the imagined moments we piece together in order to understand ourselves and our histories. Born in Ankara in 1996, he holds an MFA from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and currently lectures in Industrial Design at Istanbul Bilgi University.
