Saeed Khatibzadeh, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister and head of the Foreign Ministry’s Center for Political and International Studies, says Tehran has already responded to Washington’s comments on Iran’s seven-day proposal.
- According to Khatibzadeh, Iran received the US response through Qatar during FM Araghchi’s stopover on his way back from New York, and subsequently conveyed its own reply to the Qataris.
“The ball is now in Washington’s court.”
- He reiterated that Iran expects concrete US guarantees for an end to the war on all fronts, the lifting of the blockade and the release of Iranian assets. Only after Washington fulfills its commitments would Iran, at the end of the sixth day, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and move toward negotiations.
