U.S. officials were already watching for a possible Iranian attack before the security incident near an air base used by American forces in the UK, DHS Sec. Markwayne Mullin says.
"We had been already watching this with our counterparts" in Britain, Mullin says, adding that intelligence was flowing in both directions.
The revelation comes as the UK says there are "strong indications" Iran played a role in what happened near RAF Fairford. Tehran denies involvement, and British authorities say the investigation remains ongoing.
