IRAN’S RIAL HITS RECORD LOW AS WAR WEIGHS ON ECONOMY
Iran’s currency weakened to a fresh record low Tuesday, with traders exchanging more than 2.5 million rials per U.S. dollar, according to AP.
The rial has fallen steadily since the U.S.-Israeli assault began in February.
The decline comes as U.S.-Iran talks through mediators focus on reopening the Strait of Hormuz, while Washington continues efforts to increase economic pressure on Tehran.
