most of us are limited by what we THINK we can do.

this actually gets worse the more experienced you are! some people refer to this as "the experience tax".

"I've done this thing before. it takes 3-6 months"

... well now you can do it in 1 afternoon! and the quality will actually be HIGHER!!

I've found two things useful in this regard:

1/ hire hungry juniors without the experience tax.

the obvious move. no, entry-level jobs aren't going away.

young people are so "inexperienced and naive" that they don't know they "weren't supposed to" solve that problem in 2 hours with AI!!

feature, not a bug.

2/ challenge myself to do superhuman things.

doing user analytics? yeah i'll go down to the individual events of an individual user, reconstructing their entire user journey. connecting every single data point available across all instrumention. and I'll do this for all the users. and i'll write individual documents for each user. work that would have taken a team of 10+ data analysts months just 5 years ago.

exploring an idea? yeah i'll create a full github repo with deep research on every single aspect of the project. i'll go unreasonably deep on every topic. would have required a phd in every vertical. but now it doesn't.

prototyping an app? yeah i'll actually just build the real app end-to-end with separate agents reviewing it and critiquing it until it's great. and likely throw the whole thing away afterwards. then do it again.
