In summary:

-the 2025 altcoin pump lasted 1-2 months for most altcoins, where they did 2-3x on average, with the leaders much more

-That pump also led into DAT summer, where some of the big coins were getting bids

-The market peak in December 2024/Jan 2025 to April/May 2025 was only a few months for altcoins to reset. The longer an altcoin market has to downtrend + consolidate, the stronger the pump after. Because it was only 4-5 months, the pumps only resulted in 2x moves.

-Contrast that to today and you see that alts had nearly an entire year (with a few moves in between) to accumulate and downtrend. Hence why this time might feel a bit different.

-I don't think that this is the end for altcoins but I do think that we're in for some sort of reset period soon, where alts chill for a week or few before the next leg. It could even be longer for all we know- SOL ranged for the majority of 2023 after it went up 3x from the lows.

-What's my plan going forward? Probably to be a bit more selective with my alts and to try to go a bit more into scalp mode instead of longer hold mode. I do expect there to be some more rotation though, similar to what we saw for the AI coins yesterday. Sectors that didn't pump should see some sort of move in the coming days/weeks IMO.
