What we're watching for as UNGA begins:

POTUS on the World Stage: POTUS will address world leaders at a tumultuous moment.

Greenland Deal: POTUS signs the Greenland deal at 1100, in which the U.S. will open 2 more military bases, but Greenland keeps its sovereignty and bans Russian and Chinese investment. Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said last night, “we have reached a good agreement”--a "win-win" culmination of POTUS’ threats.

Iran/Yemen/GCC: POTUS meets the GCC at 1445, as the Houthis try to expand their assault eastward, and Reuters reports that Saudi Arabia restarted the East-West Pipeline--even as it’s exporting more through the Strait. Iranian President Pezeshkian just left Tehran and an Iranian official says he will not meet POTUS in New York.

Ukraine: POTUS meets Zelensky at 115p. Zelensky says he will bring up the possibility of truces on energy infrastructure and Black Sea attacks, and ask for more domestic air defense production. Ukraine will also raise starvation in the blockaded town of Oleshky.

A.I.: After yesterday’s U.N. warnings on A.I., tomorrow’s A.I. Security Council briefing will include OpenAI, Anthropic and Chinese DeepSeek. Burnham will announce a US-UK A.I. defense agreement.

Venezuela: POTUS’ meeting tonight at 7pm with Delcy Rodriguez will be the first meeting between and American President and Venezuela leader in more than a decade.

U.N.: The U.S. recently paid some of its bill, but experts say it's in “permanent crisis.”
