hemiStake: The Key to the Hemi Economy Hemi staking is evolving with a new approach to rewards beyond fee splitting and token incentives, aligned with long-term ecosystem health and sustained value. For stakers, longer locks mean more yield, with max-locked positions earning the strongest rewards. Existing stakers can extend to the max term as well, unlocking the full suite of Hemi ecosystem bonuses. For the community, 250 million tokens are allocated to baseline incentives for an ongoing yield boost, which puts community-staked positions in a higher yield bracket than investor allocations. Hemi team and investor token positions earn a nominal market rate during a 2-year linear unlock, starting on September 19th. Chart assumes position is always relocked at specified duration and weighted average community staking is fixed at 1-year. Positions earn passive yield from baseline incentives, governance, and DeFi protocols on Hemi. They also earn active yield from the systems that veHEMI secures, such as sequencing and the ZK-powered Bitcoin Tunnel. The new hemiStake dashboard lays it all out, complete with an incentive stream roadmap and an expanded yield ecosystem tied to how the network earns. First year of traction With projects launching on top of the network and organic activity continuing to grow, protocol fees already pay stakers. Partners' incentives from projects, including Vetro and Odyssey and new and upcoming ecosystem partners, are allocating supply for the staking positions powering the base layer. All these milestones build towards hemiStake, where rewards converge on one position. The foundation is already laid: Mainnet reached $1 billion in TVL within 38 days, and Binance pre-TGE deposits were oversubscribed by 400x. Additionally, HEMI launched on major CEXs including Binance, Aster, MEXC, and Gate.io, alongside decentralized liquidity pools on SushiSwap, Curve, Uniswap, and PancakeSwap across Ethereum, Hemi, and BNB. These rewards represent a baseline yield for $HEMI tokens, before adding other revenue streams. Protocol fees. Base chain fees convert to hemiBTC and HEMI and pay positions by weight each epoch, with 12% burned. Yields arrive in two assets: HEMI and hemiBTC/Bitcoin. What’s Directly Ahead: Core protocol primitives. With the upcoming launches of hBitVM (ZK-secured Bitcoin Tunnel Upgrade), Fast Track (Rapid BTC on/off-ramp with automatic DeFi deployment), and Chainbuilder’s Shared Sequencer/DA system, new protocol-native fee sources provide sustainable base layer economics. Evergreen Protocol Vault. A portion of assets are reserved in the vault to recompound over time. This protocol-owned liquidity is directed to benefit economic activity on Hemi, such as providing needed LPs in DEX pairs and lending markets within the ecosystem. Governance incentives. A reserved share of the staking pool goes only to positions that vote or delegate. Retroactive incentives and extension bonuses. A bonus to veHEMI stakers who have been with Hemi the longest, with extra incentives for extending existing positions. Exclusive allocations. Hemi ecosystem partners are reserving a portion of their token supply exclusively for max-lock stakers. More on this to come. Decentralization Milestones: Decentralization revenue. hBitVM, Fast Track, and Chainbuilder shared sequencing/data availability each produce fees. As they launch, those fees join the rewards stream. Gated access. Exclusive boosted Merkl campaigns, dual staking through Hemi Earn, preferred access to partner protocols, as well as participation in upcoming projects in the Hemi ecosystem. Each opportunity will be announced with its terms before activation. Earn Through The Governance Loop 📷 When new projects launch on Hemi, veHEMI voters direct incentives toward them. Those projects return governance tokens or protocol fees to the Evergreen Protocol Vault. The vault accumulates positions across the ecosystem. Then, voters direct what the vault does with them, and earn from it. The governance share is reserved for positions that actually vote or delegate. A position that sits out still earns fees and baseline staking yield, and it leaves the Evergreen Protocol Vault allocation decisions to everyone else. Stakers Are Already Earning 📷 For hemiStake participants, fees already convert into hemiBTC and HEMI and reach veHEMI positions based on their per-epoch weight, with a portion burned along the way. Epochs run about six days, and each distribution is based on your staking weight versus the global total. Right now, over 13 million HEMI is staked across nearly 7,500 positions held by more than 6,100 wallets. The median position is a few hundred HEMI. Lock-Length Weighted Rewards For incoming users, it's all about locking in. Rewards don't favor entry size, and the only multiplier is lock length; five thousand HEMI and five million earn at the same rate per token. Longer locks mean a greater share of rewards and voting power, with the maximum going to the longest positions. So, a 24-month position carries twenty-four times the weight of a near one-week position, per token. Positions can be locked for up to 4 years. The shortest lock period is about 12 days, or 2 epochs. Weight decays each epoch as the remaining lock shortens. So, a position left alone slowly accrues fewer rewards. Top up rewards by extending lockups to restore the weight. The dashboard models the before-and-after before anything is locked in. Soon, an auto-relock tool will let hemiStake positions set a target length and automatically renew lockups to that target each epoch, rather than counting down. More on this feature will be released when it launches. Unlocking a hemiStake position ends the fee share, and it ends eligibility for anything the ecosystem sets aside for stakers after that point. A New Dashboard The new dashboard puts all the vital hemiStake rewards info in one intuitive place: Position, weight, and distributions, all in one view. Yield breakdowns by asset: starting with HEMI and hemiBTC, and expanding to stablecoins, plus the one-time launch distributions listed separately as those are released. Move a lock length, see the weight and the events it picks up, then batch the transactions. Network-wide stats. The September 19 Unlock 📷 The first scheduled HEMI unlock begins on September 19. Early backer allocations are locked and split into 24 positions, one unlocking per month until fully distributed, the same schedule set at launch. These unlocks mint nothing; instead, they move tokens out of vesting positions to recipients. While locked, these tokens earn a lower staking weight than community positions.
