The Netherlands won’t meet its target for filling gas storage facilities before this winter, leaving the country ill-prepared for particularly cold conditions or unexpected supply disruptions, according to network operator Gasunie. Gasunie warned the country will miss its target of 115 terawatt-hours as it’s not “commercially viable” to fill gas storage facilities this summer. Dutch gas-storage sites are currently about 45% full, the lowest in records going back to 2009 and way below a five-year average of 73%, according to data from the industry group Gas Infrastructure Europe. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
