NVIDIA $NVDA SAYS SPACEXAI WILL DEPLOY VERA CPUS, PUT VERA RUBIN IN ORBIT SpaceXAI will use the Vera CPU to accelerate agentic AI workloads and expand the infrastructure behind Grok on the Vera Rubin platform as it scales toward gigawatts of computing capacity, per Nvidia. Its planned first-generation Starmind AI satellite will be based on an optimized Vera Rubin NVL72 rack-scale system. Nvidia says Vera carries 88 in-house Olympus cores, Spatial Multithreading and LPDDR5X memory delivering up to 1.2TB/s of bandwidth, with up to 1.8x faster task completion than x86 CPUs on agentic AI, reinforcement learning and data processing. Mike Nicolls, president of SpaceXAI: "Vera gives us the CPU performance and memory bandwidth to run enormous amounts of orchestration, code and data processing while keeping GPUs doing what they do best." Nvidia's Ian Buck: "SpaceXAI is taking this architecture from massive AI factories to the next frontier of computing in orbit." SpaceXAI is the AI division of SpaceX $SPCX, formed after SpaceX acquired xAI in February and dissolved it as a standalone company in May.
