twitter5h agomeme@AptosLabs Institutional privacy on Aptos 🔒 Reply to @AptosLabs: Institutional privacy on @Aptos rests on three design choices: 1. Opt-in. The network is transparent by default, and users choose which confidentiality features to use. 2. Accountable. Senders and recipients remain visible onchain. 3. Verifiable. Zero-knowledge proofs verify confidential transfers without revealing amounts, and Encrypted Mempool transaction details are decrypted and recorded onchain once the block is finalized. Each layer of the confidentiality stack is built around them. • Keyless Accounts (identity): users create and manage Aptos accounts with existing credentials like Google or Apple, verified with zero-knowledge proofs, without publicly tying that identity to an onchain address. • Confidential Assets (amounts): a protocol-level standard designed for encrypted balances and transfer amounts, while addresses remain public. Live today with APT. • Encrypted Mempool (intent): the payload (function called + arguments) is encrypted client-side, ordered while encrypted, and decrypted by validators together only after the block is finalized. Sender and gas fee stay visible. What this enables: • Users: onboarding with a login they already have (Keyless), and payments where amounts remain between the sender and the receiver (Confidential APT). • Traders: encrypting the details of the orders they choose, designed to lower MEV risk on those orders. Agents can submit trades with inputs encrypted until execution. • Institutions: encrypted balances and transfer amounts with Confidential APT, counterparty addresses still visible onchain, and large orders placed without signaling intent before execution. Why Aptos: Confidentiality is native to the protocol rather than added as third-party tooling, and it runs on the same network that settles payments and markets, with sub-second finality and Block-STM parallel execution. Developers can integrate Encrypted Mempool with the TypeScript SDK (v7.0.0+), and existing Move contracts need no changes. Confidential APT is live, available via @PetraWallet and on Confidential Assets Web. Encrypted Mempool is supported in Petra and on @DecibelTrade, and its transactions incur an additional gas fee.
