@ChrisOtt It’s no longer hype, it’s a reality. 🤝
Reply to @ChrisOtt: Looking at distributed RWA value per platform, Securitize is currently leading with $4.3 billion. Ondo is second with $4.0 billion. Overall distributed asset value is at "just" $39 billion at the moment, up from $26 billion exactly a year ago.

@scottmelker That distinction matters.
Infrastructure for existing market participants and open access for investors are two different products, and both will probably coexist for a while.
Reply to @scottmelker: DTCC's customers are the brokers and banks that trade there, not investors
Securitize CEO Carlos Domingo says DTCC's tokenization serves its own ecosystem, and open, permissionless blockchains are how you win
"I think it's interesting from the perspective of they're putting the word out there, tokenization. They're forcing all these traditional companies to think about wallets and things like that."
"This solves efficiency problems and post-trade problems within the DTCC ecosystem, which is very different than, let's put this outside in an open, permissionless blockchain."
"In the history of technology, open, permissionless environments where anybody can innovate and anybody can provide new applications has always prevailed. Because that's where innovation happens."
"I want to put my tokenized stocks on Solana or Ethereum or Avalanche or whatever, and let people build stuff around it. They don't have to come to me to do it. And that's how you win."

Three Korean securities firms have signed with @Optimism since July: DB, KB, and now Meritz.
Each came in through a different door:
→ DB: a regional STO platform with Jeju
→ KB: tokenized MMFs alongside Securitize
→ Meritz: issuing, settling and distributing tokenized Korean securities
Korean brokerages are no longer asking whether to go onchain. They're asking which part of the value chain to own.
Meritz and Optimism first met at a private dinner we hosted on July 21. Three months later to the day, an MOU.
Glad to have been in the room 🇰🇷

Pete Christiansen explains why @Citi downgraded Securitize to neutral:
“We do believe that tokenization is going to proliferate among equities, bonds, what have you, but how much are they gonna get paid for it is a big question.”

IS TOKENIZATION ABOUT TO ENTER ITS COLLATERAL ERA?
@Citi Research put out a report on @Aave yesterday stating that collateral mobility "may ultimately prove to be one of tokenization's most important use cases"
For those who listen to @_TalkingTokens - this may sound familiar as our guests have said: - @carlosdomingo of @Securitize called the collateral use case "potentially a huge one" - @jillfriedman of @symbioticfi told me tokenized assets have to be as usable "as collateral in lending markets" - @GregoryLBell of @hashgraph said "the value proposition in many ways is collateral mobility" - @YuvalRooz of @CantonNetwork said "collateral management will probably be the first thing that scales"
...Time will tell!
