@SolanaFloor @akashnet @solana welcome to the club Reply to @SolanaFloor: 🚨BREAKING: Decentralized cloud computing network @akashnet has passed a proposal to migrate from the Cosmos chain to @Solana with 98% Yes votes. $AKT, the network’s native token, will launch as an SPL token on Solana.

@Ken8944 @SolanaFloor @akashnet @solana Targeting token launch in two weeks post audit Reply to @Ken8944: @SolanaFloor @akashnet @solana 98% yes is about as clear as it gets. Akash moving to Solana is a big win for the ecosystem, curious how fast the $AKT liquidity follows

$AKT staking on solana will incentivize productivity instead of security new staking incentives will be announced mid november https://x.com/ubikcapital/status/2114835545230909677 Quoted @ubikcapital: @toly the quiet part of prop 346 is the akash validator set: once the marketplace runs as solana programs, bonded AKT loses its security job, so the migration also has to say what staking means after.

AKASH OPENS VOTE TO REBUILD ITS COMPUTE MARKETPLACE ON @solana, LEAVING ITS OWN CHAIN Approval would authorize a 1:1 $AKT swap, not move workloads. Marketplace cutover and the end of staking rewards need another vote. Read more here: https://thedefiant.io/news/blockchains/akash-opens-vote-to-move-from-cosmos-to-solana

$AKT community passed the proposal in record time. Akash moving to Solana is now official. (There is still a small chance voters can change their decision but unlikely) https://www.mintscan.io/akash/proposals/346 Quoted @akashnet: Akash was built on one belief: the cloud should belong to everyone. The Akash core team believes our next chapter is on Solana, where the DePIN movement thrives. This is your network, so you decide. Vote on Prop 346: https://www.mintscan.io/akash/proposals/346 Why Solana: https://akash.network/blog/why-we-selected-solana-for-akash/

If Prop 346 passes, SPL AKT launches two weeks later, once two independent audits clear. A separate vote sets the cutover date. We built the open cloud together. Now let's take it further. It needs 33.4% quorum, so every vote counts: https://www.mintscan.io/akash/proposals/346 Reply to @akashnet: Everyone has a path forward. AKT moves 1:1 to SPL AKT through a one-way portal open for 2 years, and Console balances migrate automatically. Providers re-register on Solana. Tenants keep their SDL files, and live leases keep running.

Everyone has a path forward. AKT moves 1:1 to SPL AKT through a one-way portal open for 2 years, and Console balances migrate automatically. Providers re-register on Solana. Tenants keep their SDL files, and live leases keep running. Reply to @akashnet: Solana is where the users are. It ranks first in weekly DEX volume, carries $15B in stablecoins and sees about 2.2M daily fee payers. Putting Akash there brings open compute within reach of millions of people who are already onchain.

@gregosuri reply (Wed Oct 21 13:40:42 +0000 2026): @Cryptocito announcing sooner than you think Original @Cryptocito (Wed Oct 21 06:00:00 +0000 2026): $AKT A year ago, Akash said it would move off its own Cosmos chain. As far as I can see, it still hasn't announced its new home. Founder Greg Osuri called Solana a strong contender, but said about 15 other chains were being looked at too. Whatever they pick has to stay connected to Cosmos through IBC. Meanwhile, AKT is up about 24% over the past 30 days. I still hold a little AKT.

quote: Receipts from November 2024. @gregosuri said hyperscalers would end up with GPUs they couldn’t power. Business Insider just reported Amazon has warehouses of them — sites with room for more racks but not enough power to turn them on, and no clear forecasted path to installing them. He also said in Feb 2025 that everyone would be talking about the energy crisis in two years. Somewhere right now there’s a startup that can’t get an H100, and a warehouse full of them that nobody can plug in. That’s not a shortage. That’s an allocation failure — and it’s the exact problem @akashnet was built for. An open marketplace where any provider with powered, idle capacity can list it, and anyone who needs compute can rent it. No queue, no allocation meeting, no waiting on a substation. $AKT #DePIN #DeAI #Web3 #GPU @akashnetAI | I’ve been talking about Hyperscalers hoarding valuable GPUs because they have no where to install them due to power and supply chain constraints. An explosive investigation by Business insider just proved my suspicion. The industry has a liquidity problem. https://x.com/edzitron/status/2112336168784134484

quote: Revolut is down today because of a Google Cloud outage in London (europe-west2). A power event in one availability zone knocked out multiple services. Revolut’s app, cards, and payments went offline (funds and data are safe). Other banks and services were hit too. Why didn’t multi-region or multi-cloud save them? They use Google Cloud heavily (multi-year partnership) and do multi-region for some workloads. But the critical path (auth, card authorization, payments) was still too dependent on the London region. When that region had issues, failover didn’t fully cover it. True active-active multi-region/multi-cloud for stateful banking systems is expensive and complex (data consistency, latency, compliance, testing). Many fintechs accept the residual risk until an incident forces the issue. Decentralized options like Akash $AKT can reduce single-provider risk in theory, but they don’t currently match the compliance, SLAs, and predictability banks need for production payments infrastructure. | We are currently experiencing a service disruption affecting multiple services. We can confirm that all our customers’ money and data are safe. We’ve been working to fix the issue since it was identified this morning and apologise to anyone affected and for any inconvenience caused.
